Improving Educational Opportunities in Africa
The Africa Education Project provides disadvantaged African youth educational opportunities, creating options for them to reach their full potential.

Increasing Knowledge of Africa in America
Africa Education Project educates and engages people in the United States, especially youth, in Africa’s cultural and social landscapes.
The Annie L. Jeter Scholarship
The Annie L. Jeter Scholarship is designed to support school fees for deserving students whose families cannot afford the cost of an education. The ALJ Scholarship includes, but is not limited to primary school fees, secondary school fees, room and board, exam fees, books and other school-related items like uniforms, shoes, etc. Learn more about the ALJ Scholarship.

Tumaini means “hope” in Kiswahili. The Tumaini Scholarship for Vocational Training supports young people pursuing vocational training such as carpentry, tailoring, mechanics, masonry, etc. The goal of the program is to alleviate poverty by empowering youth and equipping them with the necessary skills to compete in the job market, reduce unemployment, and support their families. Young people in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Ethiopia may apply for the scholarship. Learn more about the Tumaini scholarship for vocational training.
AEP Youth Development Program
 Africa Education Project is committed not only to our scholars but to youth in general. AEP sponsors youth development projects designed to help young people become successful citizens. The youth development program involves and impact youth from the larger community. AEP has sponsored career days and youth training workshops as part of its youth development program. AEP Teach Africa Initiative
The Teach Africa Initiative is a free resource designed to encourage K-12 educators, librarians and after-school program staff to teach young people about Africa. This initiative provides a multitude of on-line resources including lesson plans, games, maps, proverbs and fables, craft projects, music, videos, etc., to make learning about Africa fun and exciting. This initiative will be launched in the fall of 2008.

AEP Annual Reports
AEP Completes The Great Human Race
AEP will kick off its 2008 Annual Campaign on March 29, 2008, with the The Great Human Race in Durham, North Carolina. The campaign will run through May 3, culminating with National Volunteer Week (April 27-May 3, 2008).  All funds raised support AEP's education projects in Africa and the US.
