In 2003, the AEP “Run for Education in Africa” Marathon Team conquered the Trigon Bay Bridge Marathon, which traversed the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and Tunnel in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

In 2006, the AEP "Run for Education in Africa" Marathon Team took on, not one, but four marathons! The first team successfully completed the Buffalo Half Marathon on May 28, 2006. Then they conquered their next 26.2-mile challenge on Thanksgiving Day in Atlanta. Supporters of the team made tax-deductible donations to the Africa Education Project. 100% of the funds raised by the team were donated to the AEP Scholarship Fund which supports the education of deserving young people in East Africa.
The second team successfully completed the dual challenge of the Chicago Marathon on October 22, 2006, followed less than a month later by the Philadelphia Marathon on November 19, 2006. Donations raised by the second team support AEP's newest project in South Africa benefiting the Diepsloot Combined School. Read about this new, exciting South African project in the AEP News Room.
The 2007 team is already preparing for the New York Marathon to take place on November 4, 2007, in New York City.Please contact our team captain if you are interested in joining the AEP Run for Education in Africa Team. Runners of all ability levels are welcomed. Only a willing spirit and compassionate heart are required.
